Yes. For most projects, Thistle Decorators requires a deposit before work begins.
The deposit allows us to:
- Secure your place in our schedule
- Allocate labour and resources
- Order any specialist materials required for your project
The deposit amount will be clearly outlined in your quotation and confirmed before any work is booked in.
When is the remaining balance due?
The final invoice is issued once works are complete, in line with the agreed quotation and scope of works.
Payment terms and due dates are clearly stated on the invoice, ensuring full transparency from the outset. For larger or commercial projects, stage payments may be agreed in advance where appropriate.
What payment methods do you accept?
Accepted payment methods are outlined on your invoice. If you have any questions regarding payment options, our team is happy to assist before work begins.

Site Visit & Quotation
We arrange a site visit to assess the property, discuss requirements, and answer any questions.
Following this, we issue a detailed written quotation, outlining:
- Scope of works
- Materials and finishes
- Estimated timescales
- Deposit and payment terms
Quotation Acceptance
Once the customer is happy to proceed, the quotation is formally accepted in writing.
At this stage, we can discuss provisional start dates and any scheduling requirements.
Deposit Invoice Issued
After acceptance, we issue a deposit invoice.
This confirms the project booking and allows us to:
- Schedule the work
- Allocate our team
Order materials where required
Deposit Paid & Start Date Confirmed
Once the deposit has been received, we confirm the start date for works and finalise scheduling.
Customers receive clear communication leading up to the project start, including reminders and access arrangements.
Project Commencement & Ongoing Communication
Work begins on the agreed date.
Throughout the project, we:

Provide updates if any issues or delays arise
Completion & Final Invoice
Once works are completed:
- A final check is carried out
- Any agreed snagging is addressed
